We’re often asked if there’s anywhere else we’d recommend staying during Glastonbury Festival Week. After all, our rooms at The Pop-Up Hotel often sell out a year in advance—because let’s face it, there’s a reason why we’re always fully booked! But we understand that plans and circumstances can change, there can be budget constraints, or you may have groups of friends who are looking for something different.
While we believe that The Pop-Up Hotel is the ultimate Glastonbury experience (who wouldn’t want a luxury stay right next to the action?), we’re Somerset locals, and we do know other spots that are worth checking out. One of our favorites is Camp Crossways, which is owned by an old College friend of our founder Mark, and it’s where our team stays when working on The Pop-Up Hotel site before and after Festival Week.
Introducing Camp Crossways: Launched in 2024
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat from the Festival, Camp Crossways is a great and very affordable option. Nestled at The Crossways Inn, in nearby North Wootton, this camping and glamping site offers an ideal blend of tranquility and comfort, perfect for those who want to enjoy all the fun of the festival but still escape the hurly burly and get a good night’s sleep at the end of the day.
Located about a mile and a half from Glastonbury Festival’s Bronze Gate, Camp Crossways is a little further out, but that’s exactly why it’s so appealing. If you’re coming with young children or just want to unwind in a more relaxed setting away from the crowds, Camp Crossways is just the ticket.
Why Stay at Camp Crossways?
- Peace and Quiet: Camp Crossways is designed for those who want a laid-back camping experience. It’s well away from the hustle and bustle of the festival grounds, which makes it great if you’re traveling with young children or just want a more serene space to relax after a long day of music and fun.
- Convenient Access to Glastonbury Festival: Just because it’s peaceful doesn’t mean it’s isolated! The camp provides free shuttle services directly to the Bronze Gate, so you’ll have easy access to all the festival activities without needing to worry about logistics.
- Affordable Glamping: With tents starting from just £499 for the entire duration of the festival, it’s an affordable way to experience the festival in comfort. Facilities include hot showers and luxury loos, a pamper room with hairdryers and mirrors and free parking. Plus, meals can be arranged directly with The Crossways Inn where there’s also a Terrace Bar complete with views of Glastonbury Tor to add to the experience.
A Different Glastonbury Experience
While we might be a little biased about The Pop-Up Hotel being the best way to do Glastonbury, we recognise that everyone’s idea of the best festival experience is different. If you’re looking for something more relaxed and family-friendly, somewhere to catch your breath and recharge, Camp Crossways is an excellent alternative.
Whether it’s The Pop-Up Hotel or Camp Crossways, we’re all about making sure that you have the best Glastonbury experience possible. Here’s to an unforgettable Glastonbury Festival, wherever you choose to stay!
